Young Coders

July 12, 2016 by Kit Randel

The Kiwi PyCon 2016 committee is very pleased to announce our inaugural Young Coders workshops for both young coders and educators. Young Coders events have been a regular occurrence at PyCon US for the last several years, and we’re very excited to bring this event to Kiwi PyCon in Dunedin.

This year our focus is on teaching introductory python programming concepts using Minecraft Pi Edition running on raspberry pis.

The Educators workshop runs from 10:40 to 12:10 on Saturday 11th September.

Young coders workshops run from 10:30am - 1:10pm and 1:30pm - 3:30pm on Sunday, 11th September.

Workshops registration is $10 for both educators and young coders, or free with standard conference registration.

This event has been kindly supported financially by GigCity Dunedin and the Otago Community Trust. Additionally, thanks to Gasworks NZ for providing keen volunteers to assist young coders at the workshops.
