WikiEditing

Volunteers welcome!

It would be awesome if you could help us keep the content in this wiki up-to-date, accurate and useful.

To prevent spam, only people in the WikiUserGroup are allowed to edit pages.

Follow these steps if you want to contribute:

  1. Create a user profile: Simply click on "Login" in the left navigation bar and follow the instructions.

/!\ Note: For that purpose please use a WikiName style for the user name, e. g. FirstLast

  2. Get added to the WikiUserGroup: Contact one of the people in the AdminUserGroup to get your account enabled for editing.

  3. Create your "home page" (a new page in your name): Click onto the link on the bottom of the left hand navigation bar with your WikiName. When prompted for a new page, please choose the HomepageTemplate to get a skeleton page set up.

Adding SlideShare Slides

SlideShare is a site to share presentation slides (Duh!). It makes it easy by providing a flash based player in a browser for various presentation formats (e. g. PDF, OpenOffice.org Impress, MS PowerPoint). We've got "our own" group on SlideShare for NZPUG presentations here: http://www.slideshare.net/group/nzpug

These instructions show you how to use the SlideShare macro by Andreas Schreiber.

If you want to embed the flash presentation of slides into your web page do the following. I'm showing it with DarrylCousins's February 2008 presentation below:

  • Copy and paste the snippet for a presentation on the SlideShare site into the wiki page. It's easiest to use the snippet labelled "Embed (wordpress.com)":

[slideshare id=286281&doc=python-eggs-zcbuildout-zopeproject-and-zope3-1204255592680173-3&w=425]
  • Find the ID found in that snippet. The ID is everything within the square brackets after the "id=". You can omit the final width parameter &w=425 in the ID (but it doesn't hurt if you keep it):

286281&doc=python-eggs-zcbuildout-zopeproject-and-zope3-1204255592680173-3
  • Embed that ID into the SlideShare macro where you want the presentation to be embedded:

<<SlideShare(286281&doc=python-eggs-zcbuildout-zopeproject-and-zope3-1204255592680173-3)>>

The result will look like this:
