PyCon Asia-Pacific 2010
It's not just us in this region of the world waving the PyCon stick, there are also the folks from the rest of the Asia-Pacific region:
Space-Time: 9 - 11 June 2010, Singapore Management University
PyCon Asia Pacific 2010 represents a conference dedicated to the Python programming language in Asia-Pacific and hosted for the first time in Singapore. As in all PyCon conferences, PyCon Asia Pacific is an independent, community-run, community-controlled and not-for-profit conference. We are encouraged by the country-level initiatives presently. PyCon Asia Pacific will serve as a perfect platform for Python users throughout Asia-Pacific countries to come together to meet with fellow Python users. The same can be said for anyone adopting an exploratory perspective towards Python. It is our hope that different Asia Pacific countries will take turns to host as the momentum of Python develops in this region.
Latest news: Steve Holden, Chairman of the Python Software Foundation (PSF) will be coming as one of our keynotes!

Wellington, New Zealand - Monday 7 September 2009
The linux.conf.au 2010 is running a mini-confrerence on "Open Programming Languages"
The Open Programming Languages Miniconf invites presentations about all programming languages with an Open Source implementation, such as Perl, Python, C, PHP and Ruby. Topics may include recent developments in open programming languages, interface design, portability and packaging, coding applications with cool new libraries and frameworks, and showing off the use of novel programming techniques.
Whilst most talks will be specific to a single language, the focus of this Miniconf will be on sharing techniques, best practices and values amongst programmers of all open programming languages.
